I always reach for the Matera bench when I want a clean, modern look that still feels warm - the slim black legs and smooth Linea leather seat give it just enough presence without overpowering a space. It’s equally at home in a hallway as an occasional seat in a living room or tucked at the end of a bed, and the tough leather ages beautifully, so it stays looking smart year after year.
For styling, try topping it with a contrasting wool throw or a pair of sculptural cushions to soften the silhouette, or use a slimline tray to turn it into an impromptu bedside or coffee table. It works particularly well in Scandi, industrial or minimalist schemes, but would also add a crisp, contemporary edge to a more traditional setting.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
