Statement-Making. Design-led. A future icon. These are just a few of the words that have been used to describe the new Isola range of upholstery. The pieces are the brainchild of Lucy Kurrein, an up and coming London-based designer who created this stunning range exclusively for Heal’s. A highly contemporary collection, Isola is one of our most forward-thinking ranges and would be right at home in the modern design shows of Milan and Paris. Lucy was influenced by natural landscapes such as the solitary floating islands that offer a place of refuge to passers-by. The sweeping lines and elegant silhouette are reminiscent of the large stretches of sand you find on a deserted beach. The Isola range uses a mixture of different foam fillings, including a luxury memory foam, offering supreme comfort and support. The backrest features subtle seam detailing to emphasise its curvaceous silhouette and its generous seat is supported by refined metal legs in gun metal black. The small and large ottoman echoes the shape of the armchair and sofa creating a beautiful synergy between the pieces.
I love this ottoman for its versatile design and vibrant teal hue, which can add a pop of colour to both modern and eclectic interiors. Its large size makes it great for use as a cosy seat or casual footrest, while its hidden function as a sofabed offers practical flexibility for guest rooms or compact living spaces. Styling-wise, it works well paired with neutral furniture to let its colour shine or as a complementary piece in a bold, patterned setting. To keep it looking fresh, consider accessorising with a textured throw or a small tray for organising everyday items, making it both functional and stylish.
