I’m a fan of the Devon armchair in Capelo linen-cotton because its rolled arms and supportive back give a classic look without feeling fussy. The Sea Shanty fabric tone works just as well in a pared-back Scandi scheme as it does in a more traditional sitting room. For practical styling, tuck a patterned cushion into the corner and layer a knitted throw over one arm to soften the lines. It sits neatly beside a slim beech side table or a low-profile sofa, and you can pick out its black-stained feet by running a sisal or jute rug underneath for a bit of grounding.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
