I’m a fan of the Devon three-seater in tawny velvet for its perfect balance of classic curves and modern simplicity. The warm terracotta tone works brilliantly in both neutral schemes (paired with cream linen curtains and a jute rug) and richer, jewel-toned rooms where it can stand up to deep blues or emerald greens.
For styling, keep its clean lines front and centre by choosing slim metal-legged side tables and a low-pile rug in muted stripes. Add two scatter cushions in contrasting textures - think boucle or leather - and layer in a wool throw for extra depth. Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
