I’m a big fan of the Devon two-seater in tawny velvet for its warm, versatile hue and soft, tactile finish - it instantly lifts a room without shouting. The simple roll-arm silhouette and black feet give it a classic yet relaxed feel, making it equally at home in a contemporary city flat or a cosy cottage living room.
Pair it with natural-fibre rugs and a mix of linen cushions in muted clay or ochre tones to layer in texture, or introduce a deep green plant to add contrast. In a modern scheme, keep surrounding walls pale and bring in matte-black metal accents (lighting or side tables) to echo the feet. For a more traditional setting, flank it with wood-framed armchairs and a low wooden coffee table.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
