I’m a fan of the Brunel desk for its clean oak top and vivid red hairpin legs - it brings just the right dash of colour without overpowering the room. It works particularly well in Scandi-inspired or mid-century modern schemes, but equally lifts an otherwise neutral home office or creative corner.
Styling tips: keep the surface uncluttered with a slim LED task lamp, a small pot plant and a minimal desk tray for stationery. Echo the red by adding a cushion or desktop organiser in the same tone, and balance the warmth of the oak with a simple wool rug underneath. A couple of floating shelves above will maintain the desk’s light, airy look while giving you extra storage.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
