I’m a big fan of the Alto sofa in petrol velvet - its slim, metal legs give it a light, contemporary feel while the rich blue fabric adds depth to a room. It sits equally comfortably in a minimalist living space or alongside mid-century pieces, and the slightly curved arms make it feel welcoming without over-softening the overall look.
For styling, introduce contrasting textures such as a chunky wool throw or a leather pouffe to balance the luxe velvet. Keep your colour palette simple - think warm neutrals or soft greys - then add one or two accent pieces in brass or smoked glass to pick out the depth of the blue. A low-pile rug underfoot will ground the sofa, and setting a couple of smaller cushions in complementary tones avoids overwhelming the silhouette.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
