I’m a big fan of this Alto two-seater in peridot velvet - the slim black legs and gently curved arms give it a modern, mid-century vibe without feeling fussy. The rich olive-green tone works particularly well in neutral schemes (think warm beiges or soft greys) but can also hold its own against darker blues and deep terracotta when you want a more dramatic look.
For styling, layer in textured cushions (linen or bouclé in off-white or charcoal) and a lightweight wool throw to balance the smooth velvet. Pair it with matte-black or brass-frame side tables and a slim-profile floor lamp to echo the sofa’s crisp lines. On the floor, a low-pile jute or sisal rug grounds the seating area without competing with the colour.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
