I’m a fan of the Alto two-seater in oat because its slim, curved profile and black metal legs give it a modern yet unfussy look, while the brushed-cotton cover feels both durable and soft. It sits well in Scandi-inspired schemes or pared-back urban spaces, but equally lifts a cosy, textured living room. For practical styling, flank it with a slimline side table and a low-profile floor lamp, then layer in a couple of cushions in terracotta or muted green and a lightweight wool throw. On pale walls it really holds its own, and a nearby plant adds just the right touch of contrast.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
