Description

Bringing together beautiful elements of 19th and 20th century design, the Harling armchair has timeless style down to a T. Smart upholstery, slim proportions and clean lines create a highly refined look, while the subtle rounded arms and squared feet give it that antique twist. Available in a stylish selection of fabrics, and with the option of castors and additional cushions, this adaptable armchair can be customised to suit any interior. Designed with exceptional quality and comfort in mind, each piece in the Drew Pritchard range is made right here in the UK.

Our Stylist Says

I love this armchair for its versatile shape and rich teal fabric, which adds a touch of colour without overpowering a room. It works particularly well in both classic and contemporary interiors, offering a pop of colour that can be paired with neutral tones or bold patterns. Practical styling tips include layering with textured throws or cushions for extra comfort and visual interest. Its size makes it ideal for small sitting areas or as an accent piece in larger rooms, and I’d recommend placing it near a window or beside a softly lit lamp to create an inviting reading nook. Overall, it’s a stylish yet functional choice that can elevate various interior schemes.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
