Description

Sure to be a stylish addition to your hallway, dining room or living space, the Hancock console with two drawers provides a fashionable way to keep your home organised. Combining sleek clean lines with a distressed deep grey finish, this console will compliment both contemporary and traditional interiors. Its beautiful diamond metal ring handles grant easy access to its drawers while adding elegance and rustic appeal to the range. Its smooth surface is ideal for displaying a beautiful plant, family photo and a handy letter rack while its lower shelves are perfect for books and magazines or even for shoe storage.

Our Stylist Says

The Hancock console is a versatile piece that works particularly well in both contemporary and rustic interiors, thanks to its salvage deep grey finish which adds a touch of industrial charm. I love how its simple yet sturdy design can serve multiple functions-from a welcoming entryway table to a stylish surface in the living room or even a practical sideboard in the dining area. To style it effectively, I recommend layering with a mix of textured and metallic accessories, such as woven baskets or metal lamps, to enhance its character. It's also practical to keep the top clear for everyday essentials, while utilising the lower shelves for storage baskets or decorative books to keep things organised and visually interesting.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
