I’m a fan of this oak bookcase for its warm, natural grain and clever mix of open shelving above with a closed cupboard below - it’s both display-friendly and great for hiding everyday clutter. It sits well in Scandi-inspired spaces as much as in modern industrial or coastal schemes, thanks to its clean lines and sturdy metal base. For styling, aim for balance: stack a few books vertically, lean a framed print on one shelf and contrast it with a small vase or pot plant on the next. Use woven baskets or decorative boxes in the lower cupboard to keep cables and paperwork out of sight, then add a dash of greenery on top to soften the look.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
