Description

The Hamilton 4 Seater Sofa with Button Back epitomises a traditional design which has been enhanced to provide a much desired contemporary style that will suit many modern homes. The sofa displays elegance and softness with its stunning deep, button-tufted back and a great sink in feeling comfort when seated because of the liberally filled feather and fibre mix seat cushions. So whether socialising with family or friends or just relaxing and watching the television the Hamilton 4 Seater Sofa with Button Back is the perfect seating addition to your living space.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sofa for its timeless elegance and versatile style. The button back detail adds a touch of classic charm, while the rich gold upholstery makes it a statement piece that can anchor both traditional and contemporary interiors. It works particularly well in eclectic or vintage-inspired settings, where its character can flourish alongside patterned cushions or antique accessories. For practical styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned rugs and layered textures like velvet or linen to create a welcoming, layered look. Due to its generous size and plush seating, it's ideal for in-family lounging or making a statement in a more formal sitting room. Its rich colour also lends itself well to accenting with bold or metallic accessories for a touch of glamour.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
