Description

With its simplistic design and warm wood colouring, the Hague dining table will outlive any interior trend. Natural oak markings give the table a touch of character, without taking away from the timeless look, while slim legs and understated details ensure it remains quietly elegant. Built to last, it’s a piece that will see you through the years – and through countless dinner parties, homework sessions and special occasions. Whether styled to suit Scandi, retro or traditional interiors, this wooden dining table is truly versatile. Also available in black for a modern twist.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table for its clean, understated design and natural timber finish, which brings warmth and a touch of Scandinavian simplicity to any dining space. It works particularly well in minimalist, modern, or rustic interiors, seamlessly blending into both neutral palettes and more textured, layered settings. Practical styling tips include keeping the tabletop clear for versatile use, adding a statement centrepiece like a bowl of fresh fruit or a simple vase, and pairing it with a mix of chairs-perhaps a combination of elegant upholstered seats and classic wooden ones-to create a relaxed yet cohesive look. Its natural finish makes it easy to incorporate into various colour schemes and decor styles, making it a versatile choice for both everyday dining and special gatherings.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
