Description

With a notable nod to retro design, the Hague coffee table features recently revived rattan detailing and a boxy, mid-century shape. Complete with open shelves and two spacious drawers, this stylish coffee table is designed to make your life easier. Plus, with beautiful cane wicker panels to both the fronts and the backs of the drawers, it looks lovely from all angles. Crafted from quality oak, it is sure to see you through the years - while its naturally warm finish can be dressed up or down to suit an array of interior schemes. Also available in black for contemporary contrast.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Hague coffee table for its clean, natural aesthetic, which adds warmth and texture to a variety of interiors. Its understated design works particularly well in Scandi or contemporary spaces, but it can also complement coastal or boho styles due to its organic feel. When styling, consider using a mix of practical and decorative items-think a stack of books, a plant, or a tray with candles-to create visual interest without cluttering. Its rattan-style drawer fronts add a subtle tactile element, so pairing it with textured cushions or throws nearby can help bring the look together. Overall, it’s a versatile piece that grounds a room with its simplicity and natural finish.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
