Our Stylist Says

This blackthorn bedding set from Habitat is a great choice for adding a touch of traditional charm with its Morris & Co. design, perfect for cottage or vintage-inspired interiors. I love how it can inject colour and pattern without overpowering a space, making it versatile for both classic and eclectic schemes. For styling, pair it with neutral or pastel pillows and keep the surrounding textiles simple to let the print stand out. It works well in rooms with warm wood tones or neutral walls, and layering with textured throws or cushions can create a cosy, inviting feel. Practical tip: since it’s superking, it's ideal for larger beds, and I’d suggest keeping the bedding regularly laundered to maintain the vibrant prints.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
