Description

I'm in a New York state of mind. Are you? We are, with this Turner Tall Industrial desk. Think Manhattan loft living. This piece would fit right in. It's edgy and very hip. Admire its no nonsense black steel frame and 2 steel shelves and the oak finished desk top. It's imposing but considerate. The desk area has a perforated black metal border to prevent items falling off. Nice. It has other attractive features too. A magnetic back board so you can attach memos, or photos of fluffy kittens. Well, even industrial design has its soft side.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Turner 2 Shelf Office Desk for its sleek, minimalist design and versatile black finish, making it easy to integrate into a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in modern, industrial, or contemporary spaces thanks to its clean lines and understated aesthetic. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with contrasting light-toned accessories or colour pops on the shelves to add visual interest. Practical tips include using the top shelf for essential desk items and the lower slatted shelf for storage hampers or decorative baskets, keeping your workspace organised without losing that modern edge. Its open shelving design encourages a clutter-free, functional, yet stylish setup.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
