Description

Showcase an exclusive handmade object designed by Habitat. With its candy cane swirled stripes and sculptural curves, this glass candlestick is pure spectacle. Part of our art glass collection, inspired by the fantastical fairground, Luna, curated by Andre Heller in 1987. Just add a candle and let the magic glow. A festive showpiece with a sense of theatre. A timeless piece with heritage at its heart from the in-house design team at Habitat. Size H21.5, W9, D9cm.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Swirled Glass Large Candle Stick for adding a sculptural touch to both modern and vintage-inspired interiors. Its bold, twisted glass design makes it a stand-out piece on a dining table, sideboard, or mantel. It works well styled solo for a minimalist look or paired with other candles of different heights to create visual interest. For practicality, I recommend placing it on a heat-resistant surface and pairing it with a simple, unfussy candle to let the glasswork shine. This piece is perfect in neutral or pastel colour schemes, but can also add a pop of colour in eclectic or boho settings.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
