Description

Showcase an exclusive object designed by Habitat. With its colourful, dizzying swirled stripes and shapely form our candy cane glass tree is both whimsical and extravagant. Part of our art glass collection, inspired by the fantastical fairground, Luna, curated by Andre Heller in 1987. A timeless piece with heritage at its heart from the in-house design team at Habitat. Size H23, W2, D2cm.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Swirled Glass Candle Pedestal for its playful yet sophisticated design, which adds a lovely pop of colour and texture to any setting. It works particularly well in both modern and eclectic interiors, where its swirled glass can complement other colourful accents or act as a statement piece on its own. For styling, I’d suggest placing it on a sideboard or console table with minimal accessories to let it shine, or grouping it with neutral-toned candles for a layered, ambient look. Its versatile aesthetic means it can transition seamlessly between casual and more polished spaces, making it a practical and attractive addition to various interior schemes.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
