Description

Straight from our designer's sketch book. These two Sophie chairs put comfort and craft at the top of the agenda. Natural wood and black is a classic combination. The fabulous mid century frame in 100% solid oak has a gently curved backrest and Skandi style legs. Look great as a spare seat in the lounge or pop them around a dining table. Softly padded for comfort, the faux leather seat encourages your guests to linger for longer. Two might not be enough.

Our Stylist Says

I love this set of dining chairs for their clean, modern silhouette and versatile material mix. The faux leather seats paired with the oak finish give them a fresh, contemporary look that works well in both Scandi-inspired interiors and more neutral, understated schemes. They’re practical for everyday use, easy to clean, and add a touch of warmth with the natural wood. To style them effectively, consider pairing with a minimalist dining table and adding textured tableware or woven placemats for contrast. They also work great in kitchen diners or open-plan spaces, bringing a contemporary edge without feeling too clinical or cold.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
