Description

Short on space? With Roma we have both sitting and sleeping covered. Add a seating area and a guest bed all in one go. If a family member needs a place to crash, you'll be guest-ready. Roma looks every bit Habitat designed. Is it that charcoal fabric? Or maybe those angled wooden feet?

Our Stylist Says

The Roma small double velvet chair bed is a stylish and versatile piece that works well in both compact living spaces and guest rooms. I love its streamlined silhouette and the luxurious charcoal velvet finish, which adds a sophisticated touch without feeling overly formal. It’s perfect for modern, Scandinavian, or contemporary interiors, providing a cosy spot that can double as a sofa during the day and a comfortable bed at night. To style it effectively, try pairing it with minimalist cushions and a textured throw for added comfort, and keep surrounding furniture neutral or in complementary muted tones to let the velvet’s rich colour take centre stage. Its practical design and elegant look make it a smart addition for anyone wanting versatile yet refined furniture.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
