Description

Want the wow factor? This award-winning designer ribbon lamp has been designed exclusively for Habitat by Clare Norcross. Inspired by the shape of a moving ribbon and developed through the exploration of origami – it's certainly a talking point. Stunningly sculptural in bright white it looks good by day and even better lit at night as the warm light falls across the folds.

Our Stylist Says

I love this mini lamp for its bold, sculptural shape which makes it a true statement piece in any space. Its clean white finish allows it to slot effortlessly into a variety of interiors, from minimalist modern to more eclectic schemes. It’s particularly effective on side tables, nightstands, or office desks where its compact size doesn’t overpower the surroundings. When styling, consider pairing it with smooth ceramics or textured fabrics to showcase its contemporary form. Practical tip: use warm bulbs to enhance its cosy character and keep the light subtle yet functional. Overall, it adds a touch of architectural interest without feeling bulky or overly ornate.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
