Description

This understated and timeless Radius oak 3 drawer chest is beautifully crafted from lacquered solid oak and oak veneer and features recessed drawer handles and joined in traditional methods. The bridle joint construction is a carpenter's joint that allows for a corner connection that is very strong in all directions and needs no additional bracing.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this oak chest of drawers for its clean lines and natural finish, making it a versatile piece that works well across a variety of interiors. It’s ideal in contemporary settings where a touch of warmth is needed, but it can also blend seamlessly into Scandi or rustic-inspired spaces. Practical tips include styling it with minimal accessories to keep the aesthetic fresh, perhaps pairing it with textured textiles or soft lighting to soften the look. It’s great for maintaining a clutter-free space, thanks to its ample drawer space, making it both functional and visually appealing. This piece brings a natural calm to a room and is a solid choice for those seeking understated elegance with practical benefits.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
