Our Stylist Says
I really like the habitat sofa’s bold papaya colour-it’s a fantastic statement piece that can add warmth and vibrancy to various interiors. It pairs well with neutral tones like greys, creams, and browns, making it versatile for both modern and contemporary spaces. For more eclectic looks, mix it with patterned cushions or textured throws in complementary shades. The dark legs provide a subtle contrast that anchors the piece, so it's best placed against a light wall or in a space where it can stand out. Practical styling tips include keeping accessories minimal on the sofa itself to let the colour shine, and adding layered lighting or a cosy rug underneath for a welcoming, inviting vibe.

About Habitat
The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
