Description

A contemporary country side table. With its black grained real wood finish and gently splayed rounded legs, Nel is a natural charmer. Generous too, with ample room on top for tea, bikkies, and the remote, plus a handy lower shelf to pop your latest page turner. Nel is the best thing next to your chair.

Our Stylist Says

The black side table is a versatile piece that adds a modern, understated edge to a variety of interiors. I love how its sleek black finish makes it work equally well in contemporary, industrial, or minimalist schemes. It’s perfect for adding extra surface space next to a sofa or bed, and its lower shelf offers practical storage for books or decorative accessories. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with metallic or textured accessories to create contrast, or keep it simple with monochrome or neutral-toned items for a clean look. Its sturdy construction and neutral colour also make it a great candidate for a variety of spaces, from urban apartments to cosy living rooms.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
