Description

Handcrafted in Vietnam by artisans, the Moxley natural bamboo easy-to-fit ceiling shade's warm tones and relaxed design soften a room's hard edges. The shade is made from spun bamboo that is matt-lacquered, giving it a soft sheen, and its open shape makes it perfect for use with a feature bulb. Exclusive to Habitat and also available with a lacquered exterior in a choice of colours, the Moxley easy-to-fit shade can be used with your existing light fitting or our Pendel fitting.

Our Stylist Says

I love this Moxley shade for its warm, natural look that adds a subtle texture to any space. It works particularly well in Scandi, industrial, or minimalist interiors where the focus is on understated elegance. The neutral, light wood tone complements both soft tones and bolder accents, making it versatile for various colour schemes. For styling tips, consider pairing it with exposed bulbs or vintage-style fixtures to enhance its earthy vibe. Practical placement ideas include use in pendant lighting over kitchen islands or dining tables, where the natural material can create a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Overall, it’s a great choice for anyone looking to introduce a touch of organic warmth without overwhelming the space.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
