Description

Touch on, touch off. Designed in house by Habitat, these 2 Maya touch lamps are a great way to instantly brighten up any space. Each lamp comes complete with a 26cm fabric drum shade, so they're great for bedside use or for either side of the sofa. Simply touch the base to turn them on and off. Clever, huh?

Our Stylist Says

I really like this pair of touch table lamps for their sleek, contemporary look. The combination of silver and cream makes them versatile, working well in both modern and transitional interiors. They’re ideal for side tables in living rooms or bedroom bedside tables, providing just the right amount of ambient light. Practical styling tips include grouping them on a console or sidetable with decorative books, trays, or small accessories to create a balanced vignette. Their understated yet elegant design means they won't overpower other elements in the space but will add a touch of sophistication and functionality.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
