Description

Quite the retro fellow. The Habitat Max console has been crafted from solid oiled oak and oak veneer. The rich oil finish used on the oak brings warmth to your space. The slatted front adds both intrigue and character. It sits on a hidden plinth to give it a light appearance.

Our Stylist Says

The Habitat Max Console is a versatile piece that works particularly well in contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors thanks to its clean lines and natural oak finish. I love how its slatted design adds texture without overwhelming a space, making it ideal for entryways, living rooms, or even bedrooms. Practical styling tips include using it as a place to display your favourite decorative objects, such as vases or books, while keeping clutter hidden behind the slatted doors. It’s sturdy yet relaxed, so it pairs nicely with both minimalist and more layered, eclectic schemes. For added visual interest, consider styling on top with a mixed arrangement of potted plants, trays, or even a statement lamp.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
