Description

A touch of tartan. Our wool-blend checkered throw is a super-soft, handsome classic. Made from 74% wool and 26% nylon, we're loving its rich, luxurious texture and bold country-style design. Drape over the end of your bed for a traditional twist on your modern decor. Dinner alfresco? Wrap yourself up warm in this cosy throw. Winter, we're ready.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Manor House Check Wool Throw for its classic tartan pattern and rich navy tone, which adds a timeless yet cosy touch to any interior. It works particularly well in traditional or country-style spaces, but can also introduce warmth and texture into more modern settings when layered thoughtfully. For styling, drape it over a sofa for a relaxed look or fold it at the foot of a bed to add instant character. Practical tips include pairing it with neutral-coloured textiles to make the check pattern stand out or mixing it with other plaids for a layered, eclectic feel. It’s a versatile piece that combines style with warmth, making it a great addition to both living rooms and bedrooms.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
