Description
Combining saturated tonal colour with a small-scale geometric pattern, the Leonardo indigo blue woven wool rug makes a subtle style statement. Exclusive to Habitat, the hard-wearing rug is hand woven in India in wool with a hint of cotton that adds textural contrast and the illusion of depth in a design that is durable yet soft underfoot. The Leonardo rug's smart colour provides the perfect backdrop to a variety of schemes, from neutral to bright, and is the perfect complement to pastels, such as powder pink and lilac. Hand made. 90% wool, 10% cotton. Spot clean only. Blue geometric pattern design.
Our Stylist Says
I love this blue cotton and wool rug for its versatility and comfort underfoot. Its generous size makes it ideal for living rooms or open-plan spaces, instantly adding warmth and a cosy layer to your décor. The textured cut pile design provides subtle visual interest without overwhelming the space, making it suitable for both contemporary and more relaxed, traditional interiors. For styling, pair it with neutral furniture to let the blue pop or add coordinated accessories in similar tones for a cohesive look. Practical tip: because of its wool content, it’s a good idea to use a non-slip underlay to keep it securely in place and protect your flooring.

About Habitat
The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
