Description

Parisian chic. Our Le Marais lamp brings the glamour and refinement of French style into your home. With its distinctive ribbed glass, it radiates vintage elegance. Want a minimalist look? Pair with a simple shade. Feeling bold? Choose something vibrantly colourful for an instant fabulous feature or go no shade and simply show off an exposed Edison bulb for a quirky, industrial edge. Clearly a base to embrace.

Our Stylist Says

I love this ribbed glass lamp base for its simple yet sophisticated look. Its clear design makes it incredibly versatile, working equally well in modern, minimalist, and even eclectic interiors. It’s perfect for adding a subtle sculptural element on side tables or console units, especially when paired with a warm-toned or coloured lampshade to introduce some contrast. Practical styling tips include using it with statement bulbs or layered lighting to create ambience, as well as combining it with textured or patterned accessories for more visual interest. Its understated elegance makes it a timeless piece that can adapt to various decorating schemes over time.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
