With an elegant curved frame and deep-seated cushions, it offers a medium-soft support for an inviting low-seat and is stylishly finished with a singular plump, feather filled cushion for the upmost comfort. Using AQUACLEAN technology, this sofa is upholstered in a micro pile velvet with a brushed fabric texture which has been treated to prevent stains. Simply wipe away spillages with water. The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
