Description

The Kirby oak veneer and red gloss desk was created in the Habitat design studio with a subtle nod to the 80s. This oak veneer table is finished with contrasting red gloss powder coated legs to add a contemporary twist to an otherwise classic design, as well as bringing a touch of Habitat personality into your home.

Our Stylist Says

I love this desk for its clean, functional design with a touch of colour thanks to the bright red legs. It works particularly well in contemporary and minimalist interiors, adding a pop of personality without overpowering the space. Its compact size makes it ideal for home offices, studios, or smaller rooms, while the oak finish lends a warm, natural feel. For styling, consider pairing it with sleek office essentials and a cosy chair to keep the look practical yet inviting. You could also layer with a small desk plant or colourful accessories to inject some vibrancy and personalise the setup.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
