Description

Inspired by country living. The Habitat Kent collection comes fully assembled, so you can put your feet up as soon as it arrives. Its chunky look with rounded edges make this a sturdy bookcase, ideal for a busy household. The top surface shows off the natural grains and knots of the wood and the contrasting dark grey tone is warm and inviting. Perfect for cosying up a lounge.

Our Stylist Says

The habitat kent tall bookcase is a versatile piece that works well in both modern and traditional interiors. I love its neutral grey finish, which makes it adaptable across different colour schemes and styles. Its tall, slim profile is ideal for maximising storage in smaller spaces, while the open shelving provides plenty of room for books, decorative objects, or plants. For styling tips, consider grouping items by colour or size for a curated look, and don’t forget to add some height variation with taller objects to create visual interest. The two bottom drawers are great for hiding less attractive items or additional storage, making this piece both functional and stylish. It’s a practical choice for living rooms, bedrooms, or even home offices where a sleek, understated look is desired.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
