Description

Multi marvelous. That's what we think of multi-functional furniture. And our Kent light grey sideboard/workstation is tops. Traditionally styled with modern lifestyles in mind, it comes complete with a flip down, hinged work surface. All secretly hidden behind mock drawer fronts. Clever eh.

Our Stylist Says

The Habitat Kent sideboard is a versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and cottages-style interiors thanks to its light grey finish and classic design. I love how the two-tone effect combines the fresh, airy vibe of the light grey with the warmth of the wooden top, making it easy to style with a mix of modern or vintage accents. Practical styling tips include keeping the top surface decluttered with a few decorative items like a vase or candle for a cosy feel, while utilising the internal storage for everyday essentials to keep the space looking tidy. It’s especially suitable for living rooms, dining areas, or even hallways where you want storage that doesn’t compromise on style.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
