Description

Inspired by country living. The Habitat Kent collection comes fully assembled, so you can put your feet up as soon as it arrives. Its chunky look with rounded edges make this a sturdy unit, ideal for a busy household. The surface shows off the natural grains and knots of the wood and the oak finish is warm and inviting. Perfect for cosying up a lounge.

Our Stylist Says

I love this version of the Habitat cabinet for its blend of natural oak and oak veneer, which makes it versatile in both modern and traditional interiors. It works particularly well in cosy living rooms or kitchens where you want to showcase crockery, books, or decorative objects. To style it effectively, consider arranging items by colour or height to add visual interest, and use the glass doors to display seasonal or special pieces while keeping dust at bay. Its clean lines and warm wood tone also lend themselves to scandinavian, rustic, or even minimalist schemes, making it a flexible piece for a variety of settings.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
