Price History

Description

Hand-tufted in India - the home of great textile-making - this luxurious rug is made from 100% wool and has a sumptuous pile, adding texture and warmth to the room. Inspired by the jungle, this cushion depicts a cheetah amongst palm trees in a stylish monochrome design and sits against an off-white cotton base. An original Habitat design, this pattern is available in a co-ordinating cushion and duvet set design. Hand made. 100% wool. Professional clean only. Size L230, W160cm. Multicoloured jungle pattern design.

Our Stylist Says

I love this jungle wool flatweave rug because it offers a vibrant, versatile way to add colour and texture to a space. Its multicoloured design makes it a great statement piece that can lift neutral interiors or complement more eclectic looks. It works particularly well in lively living rooms or bedrooms where a pop of colour can energise the space. Practical styling tips include layering it over a plain, neutral rug for added depth or pairing it with modern or bohemian furniture to enhance its playful character. Because it's flatweave, it’s also easy to maintain and perfect for high-traffic areas or under dining tables where a softer rug might be less practical.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
