Description

Introducing Julien. A Habitat design exclusive that will make mad men eat their hearts out. Recognise the authentic mid-century style notes? T-shaped seat cushions, foam filled to be soft but firm. Nice. The pillow style back, wide boxy arms and a wrap-around front finishes the look. Totally iconic. This is really cool, stuff. And all beautifully upholstered in the most gorgeous, sumptuous charcoal velvet. Drooling yet?

Our Stylist Says

I love this sofa for its clean, modern look combined with the luxe feel of velvet, which adds warmth and texture to a space. The natural colour makes it versatile, working well in both contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors, especially when paired with soft neutrals or earthy tones. Practical styling tips include adding cosy cushions in contrasting textures or colours to create visual interest, and positioning it near natural light to enhance its plush fabric. Its compact size makes it ideal for smaller living rooms or as an inviting seating option in open-plan spaces, while the simple silhouette allows it to blend seamlessly with a range of decor styles.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
