Description

Want a minimalist home but need storage? Meet Jakob - a bit of a transformer. Jakob's super king size bed frame includes an ingenious gas lift mechanism which raises the foot end of the bed to reveal loads of storage space. Next flip down the slanting headboard. Ta'dah - handy hidden shelves for night time essentials. Finished perfectly in a fabulous soft woven fabric with buttoned headboard and with sprung wooden slats for good mattress support and ventilation - we are definitely fans.

Our Stylist Says

I love this bed for its clean, contemporary look and practical storage solution-perfect for maximising space in bedroom schemes. Its grey upholstery is versatile, working well in modern, minimalist, or Scandinavian interiors, especially when paired with natural woods, soft textiles, or bold accent colours. As a stylist, I’d keep styling simple with neutral bedding and add personality through accessories like textured cushions or statement lamps. Its ottoman feature not only provides easy access to stored items but also keeps clutter out of sight, making it ideal for smaller rooms or for those who value functional design without sacrificing style.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
