Description

Want a minimalist home but need storage? Meet Jakob - a bit of a transformer. Jakob's double bed frame includes an ingenious gas lift mechanism which raises the foot end end of the bed to reveal loads of storage space. Next flip down the slanting headboard. Ta'dah - handy hidden shelves for night time essentials. Finished perfectly in a fabulous soft woven fabric with buttoned headboard and with sprung wooden slats for good mattress support and ventilation - we are definitely fans.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Jakob Double Ottoman Bed for its sleek, practical design and versatile colour. Its grey upholstery makes it easy to pair with a range of colour palettes and decor styles, from minimalist and Scandi to contemporary boho. The ottoman storage is a real bonus for keeping bedrooms tidy, making this piece as functional as it is stylish. For styling tips, consider layering with neutral or textured bedding to add depth, and keep bedside tables minimal for a clean look. This bed works particularly well in modern and urban interiors, but with the right accessories, it can complement cosy or eclectic spaces too.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
