Description

With clean lines and sumptuous proportions, it's no surprise our Hendricks sofa is a bestseller. Inspired by mid-century design and created in the Habitat design studio. Made in England, this sofa is upholstered in our Aquaclean Mystic velvet - With a brushed fabric feel, this family-friendly micro pile velvet has been treated to prevent stains. Simply use water to wipe away spillages. Removable frame covers ensure easy cleaning, although we do recommend professional cleaning to avoid colour variation.

Our Stylist Says

The Habitat Hendricks velvet armchair in teal offers a fantastic pop of colour that can work well in both contemporary and eclectic interiors. I love how its clean lines and plush velvet finish add a touch of sophistication and comfort. It pairs beautifully with neutral tones to create a balanced look or can be styled as the statement piece in a more vibrant scheme. For practical styling, consider placing it alongside textured cushions or a cosy throw to invite relaxation. It also works well in living rooms, reading nooks, or even as an accent in bedrooms, making it a versatile choice for adding colour and comfort to various spaces.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
