Description

With clean lines and sumptuous proportions, it's no surprise our Hendricks sofa is a bestseller. Inspired by mid-century design and created in the Habitat design studio. Made in Italy, this sofa is upholstered in our Alba fabric - Perfect for busy homes, this 100% polyester fabric is soft yet extremely hardwearing with an easy-care finish to aid the removal of water-based stains.. Removable frame covers ensure easy cleaning, although we do recommend professional cleaning to avoid colour variation.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Hendricks orange armchair for its bold colour and contemporary silhouette, making it a great statement piece in both modern and eclectic interiors. Its clean lines and compact size work well in small spaces, as well as larger living rooms where it can be paired with neutral furnishings to let the chair really stand out. For styling tips, consider adding textured cushions or a small throw to soften the overall look, or place it alongside natural wood or metallic accents to enhance its vibrant hue. This armchair is versatile enough to work in everything from minimalist schemes to more maximalist, colourful spaces.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
