Description

With clean lines and sumptuous proportions, it's no surprise our Hendricks sofa is a bestseller. Inspired by mid-century design and created in the Habitat design studio. Made in England, this sofa is upholstered in our Aquaclean Mystic velvet - With a brushed fabric feel, this family-friendly micro pile velvet has been treated to prevent stains. Simply use water to wipe away spillages. Removable frame covers ensure easy cleaning, although we do recommend professional cleaning to avoid colour variation.

Our Stylist Says

This teal velvet sofa is a fantastic statement piece that works well in contemporary and eclectic interiors. I love its rich colour and plush texture, which instantly add a sense of luxury and comfort to a room. It pairs nicely with neutral tones for a calming vibe, or bold, patterned cushions to create visual interest. Practical styling tips include layering with throw blankets to enhance its softness and using sleek, modern coffee tables nearby to keep the look contemporary. Due to its inviting appearance, it’s ideal in open-plan living spaces or larger rooms where it can become a focal point. Overall, it’s a versatile piece that can elevate the style and comfort of many homes.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
