Description

Grand, and graceful. Skilfully crafted in natural oak, our Cornelia 5 drawer chest has been designed to show off its beautiful grain. With its light and airy look, this piece is an elegant addition to your bedroom. The 5 drawers are on easy glide metal runners, so they're easy to open and close with the softly rounded handles. There's ample room for all your tops, trousers and jumpers. Pop a plant, a mirror and some pictures on top. Cornelia will stand sturdily on its turned wooden legs and be a favourite family piece for many years to come.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Cornelia chest for its clean, Scandinavian-inspired look and warm oak finish, which makes it a versatile piece for a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in modern, minimal, or mid-century inspired spaces, but can also add a touch of natural warmth to more traditional settings. Practical styling tips include using the top surface for organising everyday essentials or decorative accents like vases and lamps, while the drawers are perfect for keeping clothing, accessories, or linens tidy out of sight. Pair with neutral textiles and simple hardware to maintain its crisp, understated aesthetic, or add colourful or textured accessories for a personalised, layered look.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
