Description

Retro-inspired, the Cooper yellow fabric 2 seater sofa will make a strong style statement in any room. With a slight nod to mid-century American pieces, this sofa is designed with a black metal frame and solid wood armrests. The combination of its slightly reclined, low-seat and button-backed design offers the upmost comfort. Part of the Cooper range, its also available as a stylish armchair in various colours.

Our Stylist Says

I love this yellow sofa for its cheerful hue and modern retro vibe-it instantly lifts a space and adds visual interest. It works especially well in small living rooms, eclectic spaces, or contemporary interiors looking for a pop of colour. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned accessories to keep the look balanced, or add patterned cushions and throws to create a cosy, layered feel. This sofa also pairs brilliantly with natural woods and brass accents for a warm, inviting ambiance. Practical tip: given its bold colour, it’s best suited to spaces with plenty of natural light to prevent it from overwhelming the room.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
