Description

Compact, convenient, clean design. This folding desk is both practical and pleasing to the eye. It offers spacious surface area for studying, working or crafting. Many of us don't have space to convert a room into an office. This desk could be the answer. Its foldaway feature allows you to tuck it away when you're done, so you get that space back. There's no assembly required, just take it out of the box and you're good to go. So clever, so contemporary.

Our Stylist Says

This fold-away desk is a smart choice for creating flexible workspaces, especially in smaller or multi-use rooms. I love its modern mix of black metal and oak that gives it a contemporary yet warm feel, making it versatile for various interior styles from Scandinavian minimalism to eclectic schemes. It works particularly well in interiors that embrace functional simplicity-pair it with sleek storage options or a cosy desk chair to complete the look. For styling tips, consider placing it near a window to maximise natural light, and keep accessories minimal to highlight its clean lines. It’s perfect for quick setups when you need to transform a space-ideal for home offices, guest rooms, or even studio spaces.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
