Description

Warm throw for winter? Check. In rustic reds, greens and blues? Check. Traditional good looks? Check. Sounds like our big check throw is ticking all the right boxes. Hugely inviting, our tasseled throw is ready to add a cosy layer to a bed, or a wrap around snuggle on a chilly night. In muted classic country colours it's a welcoming winter warmer.

Our Stylist Says

I really like the Habitat checked throw because of its vibrant, multicoloured palette that instantly adds warmth and personality to any space. It works particularly well in cosy, informal interiors such as living rooms and boudoirs, where layering textiles helps create a welcoming feel. For styling, I’d suggest draping it casually over a sofa or armchair, or folding it neatly at the foot of a bed for a pop of colour. Its classic checked pattern also pairs well with both neutral and more eclectic decor schemes, making it a versatile accessory that can adapt to different looks easily. Additionally, it’s a practical choice for adding extra warmth during colder months without overwhelming the space visually.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
