Description

Created in the Habitat design studio, the Berber light grey hand-woven wool 170 x 240cm rug adds warmth to a room whilst creating a striking visual focal point. Inspired by Moroccan designs and made from 100% wool, this luxurious diamond-patterned rug is super-soft underfoot and complements both neutral and vibrant design schemes. The best-selling Berber rug is available in other sizes. The design's cream-coloured ground complements both neutral and vibrant design schemes and because its made from undyed wool, each rug will be slightly different from the next. Hand made. 100% wool. Spot clean only. Size L240, W170cm. Grey diamond patterned design.

Our Stylist Says

I love this round-up of the Habitat Berber Flatweave Wool Rug for its versatile, understated look and warm, inviting texture. The light grey shade makes it an excellent choice for creating a neutral base or adding subtle visual interest to modern, minimalist, or Scandinavian-style interiors. It's practical in high-traffic areas like living rooms and hallways thanks to its durable wool construction and easy-to-clean flatweave design. When styling, consider pairing it with contemporary or mid-century furniture to let it stand out, or layer it with other textured textiles for added depth. Its size makes it flexible for both larger open-plan spaces and smaller zones, making it a smart, stylish addition to many interiors.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
