Clean, pure and elegant, the Austin 4 seat oak round dining table with a pedestal base evokes the spirit of classic 50s and 60s Scandinavian designs. Designed in house by Matt Long and made from solid and veneered oak, the table's feature splayed legs have smooth, gently rounded edges. The table is made in a small factory in Estonia and an Austin 8 seat rectangular table and matching bench are also available. The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
