Description
Sit up for breakfast in bed. Lean on the padded, buttoned headboard of Aspen - with matching covered frame, ahh that's nice. A low foot end means you can tuck in coversneatly, orlet your duvet or cover trail over the end - your bed, your look. Perched on tapered wooden legs with a sprung slatted base for good mattress ventilation. Aspen comes in an all over light grey fabric with a subtle woven texture and clean stitch detailing - looks good with Scandi and Mid Centurymodern themes. Sprung wooden slats offer adaptable support and breathability for the perfect night's sleep. The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
